Featuring more than 40 student performers, a standout team of local artists, and numerous volunteers, the inaugural production of Jersey City Nutcracker combined artistic excellence and community engagement. Students from local dance studios Next Step Broadway and Jersey City Dance Academy joined the Nimbus Dance Works professional dancers, along with student performers who had trained in Nimbus’ JC SummerMoves dance program, onstage. Three sold-out performances at Grace Church Van Vorst laid the foundation for even larger productions in future years. A highlight was performing for former New Jersey governor Brendan Byrne, who attended the closing night performance. Click here to see photos that appeared in the Jersey City Independent.

Choreographed by renowned Taiwanese choreographer Zhang Xaio-xiong to an original score composed by New York City composer Judd Greenstein, the performance features the dancers of Nimbus Dance Works and the Taipei Crossover Dance Company.
